What’s it about: Pretty Solider Sailor Moon originally was a 90’s Japanese  manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi and later adapted into an anime. The series follows the adventures of a young schoolgirl named Usagi Tsukino as she transforms into the titular character to search for a magical artifact called the “Legendary Silver Crystal”. With the help of her friend’s who also have special powers they battle the forces of evil. The original anime was dubbed into English and titled just Sailor Moon but strayed from the source material to make it more “kid friendly” and since then has been criticized for it’s censorship of content by changing characters names, clothing and even the relationships of LGBT characters.

A live action TV series called Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon was also released which was similar in the way of Power Rangers with a story and monster of the week with the team progressing the overall plot.

In 2014, Sailor Moon Crystal was released which is a reboot of the original anime series with new animation and which was considered more faithful the the original manga.

Where to start:

Most would recommend you check our the Japanese SM Anime or the Manga as they are superior to the English dub, however if you are after a fun time, you can check our Pretty Guardian SM. All incarnations of the show have almost the same first episode as they all follow the first story plot identically.
